Hi there,

I have a Bell Mag 1 helmet, used on 2 track days.
Is this suitable for National b licence holding hillclimb event?

I've read the blue book and am still none the wiser, it says it should have an MSA sticker on it. Mine doesn't have any stickers.
Thanks, Lewis.

Does it have an FIA 8859-2015 or similar label on the inside somewhere?

No I don't see any labels or stickers at all.

It's this one, had it since around 2012

Edited to add, just noticed on the metal buckle in small letters it's marked 2011/7.

Yep. Should be fine for MSA national events.... You may have to lift the lining to find the label on the shell

That's great thanks for your reply, I'll have a look.

ETA
Thanks, was under the lining as you said.
It says Snell SA2010, FIA Standard 8858-2010.

So am I ok with that?

Blue Book says Sa2010 OK until 31/12/23..... Think you may have read the FIA number wrong as that not mentioned in the BB(or it's a random spec for something else) ...... However the SA2010 should see you ok

Pages 170 & 178 in the BB (also available online I believe)

A scrutineer will check the helmet at your first event and sell you a MSA sticker. (£2 I think).

Some scripts ar looking for the £20 note that we all keep inside our helmet (cough).

Yes they are checking that it is in good repair, and critically has the correct sticker inside the lining. So, standard of construction and standard of maintenance.
