Hi All
The 2016 season of the Lowland and Highland Speed Championships have come to a close and may we convey our congratulations to all the award winners.
Sadly, however, the 2016 season also saw the passing of David Baker who, as you will all know, played a huge part in the organisation and running of these Championships.
With the need for a decision as to whether these Championships should continue for 2017 there was a requirement for a replacement for David. To allow sufficient time for the MSA to approve the Regulations for 2017, a decision surrounding this had to be taken at the earliest opportunity so that they might be submitted in a timely fashion. There are many facets to the organisation of these Championships, not least personnel to replace David. We have had several discussions around the work needed to be done and are pleased to say that we have been able to identify a Committee to take this forward.
Each of the Clubs who’s events we would like to include in our Championships have been approached, and all have agreed, in principle, that the Championships would continue for the coming season. East Ayrshire Car Club have agreed to their standing as organising Club for the Lowland Championship and Highland Car Club for the Highland Championship. Both of the major sponsors are happy to continue their support and the presentation of awards will take place on Saturday 18th March 2017 at the Golden Lion in Stirling.
As a previous competitor in these Championships it is hoped that you will continue to support the events throughout the 2017 season. There will be no major changes to the Regulations or events for this season to allow us to regroup and plan ahead for the future.
The people who have offered their services to make up the Committee are Ian Thompson, Iain Scoular, Pete Lawton (Highland Car Club) and Russell Fair (East Ayrshire Car Club) supported by Jim Clark, Lynn Glen, Peter Locke, Stewart Stoddart and Joanna Young. If you feel you would like to be involved in any of the organisation then we would welcome your offer of assistance.
There is a lot to be done in a short space of time, however, I am sure that we can look forward to another successful season as we continue the work that David had begun.
Yours in sport.
Iain Scoular & Ian Thompson

The regulations for 2017 have now been approved by MSA.

The MaxSport Competition Tyres (Scotland) Lowland Speed Championship and the PR Highland Speed Championship with the support of Plenderleath Runcie are pleased to announce the regs and entry forms and calendar dates are now all live on the website.

As per last year, they are running to common regulations and are pleased to continue to support the MX5 Register with the class A9.

It has returned to a £10 per championship format and do hope the attraction of the competition will continue to find that those of you who wish , as in previous years, will enter the other championship in addition. ( and vice versa )

Entries are being accepted now and the deadline for entries is 17th April 2017.

Regulations and entry forms are available on the Lowland website http://www.prhighlandspeedchampionship.co.uk/page2.html

On behalf of the Highland and Lowland Champsionship Organisers

Peter

PR Highland Speed Championship update.

Up to round 6, Golspie.

Those pesky Ciios have a hold on A2 :( Derek Rothnie, Brian WIlson and Neil Hamilton. Jim King will be doing some magic in the workshop as he reads this no doubt. My secret weapon will be unveiled at September Boyndie :)
Intersting times ahead too with John Munro and Roy Munro less than half a point apart :)
See you all at Boyndie I hope :)

Website will be updated shortly, all competitors have received the championship standings by email and a copy placed here for reference in the meantime ... http://lcs.org.uk/biz/LSC/2017_14.pdf

Noted that the dropped scores had been missed in the sending of the documetn and as critical for me I created the column using the standard tools. THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL. But used for my own evaluation and noted it matters to a fellow A2 driver for this week and the A9 gang, so felt worthy of sharing.

I noticed the dropped scores column hasnt come through and for MY OWN USE I put this through my own tool to produce this for my use. It might help others who are close ( ie Ian , Gary let him know :) ) Andy, Ross, James and Keth I guess you've already done this for your class :) CLOSE :)

NOTE, these are NOT official. The link provided in the main post is and that will be updated to the web by Scribble as soon as. Similarly the dropped scores will be updated and official post made.
In meantime, no guarantees, no comebacks :) But see if it helps :)

Good luck Ian :)

Peter

PS: Just noted it screwed with IanTs formatting so no gridline. Official update will have that all covered when IanT gets home from work :)

Very pleased , along with all the drivers and family at Boydnie to recognise the efforts of Brody Penny ( and his proud mum Dave and Claire ) for his efforts in collecting over £5000 for Downs Syndrome Scotland. Well done Brody.

These results for the MAXSport Lowland Speed Championship are provisional and each driver should check their scores and let Iain Scoular know of any queries or issues.
